Delivery times to Jersey

Freight loaded in Portsmouth is typically with you in Jersey within 24 hours of sailing. We use a daily sailing service, subject to the third-party operator, with deliveries in Jersey Monday to Saturday.

Allow separately for your retailer’s delivery to Portsmouth. Sailing availability and customs clearance can affect delivery, so this is not a guaranteed next-day service from the time you order.

How your shipment reaches us

  1. 1. Choose the size that fits your packaged goods and create your account.
  2. 2. Complete your booking details and pay by card payment or bank transfer.
  3. 3. Give the retailer your Portsmouth delivery address shown in your account, with your personal NWL shipping ID on the second line.
  4. 4. We match the goods to your account, arrange the crossing and contact you about customs clearance before delivery in Jersey.
How it works

Furniture, multiple boxes & business stock

Pallet delivery to Jersey

A pallet suits goods that are too big or heavy for our parcel sizes, or several boxes that travel best together, such as a sofa, garden furniture or a stock order. You or your supplier deliver the pallet to our Portsmouth depot; we arrange the crossing and delivery to your Jersey address.

Choosing the right pallet size

  • Measure the loaded pallet, including the pallet base, from the floor to the highest point. Any overhang counts towards the length and width.
  • Weigh the whole consignment: goods, packaging, wrapping and the pallet itself must be within the maximum weight.
  • If your goods fit within the Single Pallet limits, book that size. Choose Double Pallet for longer items or loads that need the extra length.
  • For anything over the Double Pallet limits, or a non-standard pallet, email us for a quote with its dimensions, weight and contents before sending it.

Before your pallet is sent

  • Ask your supplier to secure and wrap the goods firmly to the pallet for transport.
  • Make sure your NWL shipping ID is on the delivery address and labels so we can match the pallet to your booking.
  • Keep the invoice for everything on the pallet. You will need the values for your booking declaration and Jersey customs.
  • Check the prohibited and dangerous goods guidance, especially for mixed loads, garden equipment or anything containing fuel or batteries.
  • If access to your Jersey address is restricted for a large delivery, email us before booking so we can discuss it.

Appliances & bulky purchases

White goods shipping to Jersey

Buying a washing machine or dryer from a UK retailer? Both are listed as Large Parcels examples. The correct option still depends on the appliance’s packaged weight and dimensions, which must fit the current catalogue limits.

If the packaged appliance is too large or heavy, compare the Single Pallet and Double Pallet options. For other appliances or goods outside all listed sizes, contact us before booking rather than assuming they fit.

Keep the retailer’s invoice and order information for your booking and customs declaration. Ask the retailer to package the appliance securely for transport; contact us if you are unsure about preparation or restrictions.

Jersey customs, GST and UK VAT

When your goods arrive in Jersey, we contact you with your customs reference so you can declare their value and pay any GST or duties due. Where GST applies, the import value includes transport as well as the goods. Have the original retailer documents ready and make sure your booking declaration is accurate.

For UK VAT, speak to your retailer about export treatment before buying. We can supply proof of delivery or an export shipping certificate on request to support their evidence requirements; a VAT refund is not automatic. Full rates, thresholds, worked examples and official HMRC and Jersey sources are on our VAT & GST page.
